JavaScript & Node.js

Vue.js VPS HostingVue Front End, API and Database Together

Vue apps build to static files that NGINX serves very efficiently, which leaves the server free for your API. We set up NGINX with HTTPS and history-mode routing, plus the Node.js, PHP or Python runtime your back end needs.

Full root & SSH NVMe storage Daily backups Anti-DDoS 99.9% uptime SLA 11 locations

  • NVMe storage

Static assets served straight from fast disk.

  • Dedicated IPv4 and IPv6

    Your own addresses, anti-DDoS included.

  • Root and SSH access

Build tools, runtimes and NGINX config.

  • Daily backups

Automatic backup of the previous 24 hours.

Why a VPS

Why Host Vue on a VPS

Vue is often paired with Laravel, Node or Django back ends. Front end and back end on one server keeps routing, cookies and deploys simple.

  1. One domain for app and API

Serve Vue at / and proxy /api, so cookie-based auth such as Laravel Sanctum works without CORS headaches.

  2. A natural fit with Laravel

The common Vue and Laravel setup runs on one NGINX, PHP-FPM and MySQL server.

  3. History mode without 404s

NGINX falls back to index.html for Vue Router routes, so deep links and refreshes work.

  4. A flat monthly price

No usage tiers, with unlimited traffic in Europe and North America.

The stack

How a Vue App Is Served

The Vue build is static; NGINX serves it and routes API calls to your back end.

Request from a browser or app (HTTPS)

  1. Front end

    Vue build (Vite)

index.html plus hashed assets from npm run build.

  2. Web server

    NGINX

Serves the build, falls back to index.html and proxies /api.

  3. API

    Laravel, Node.js or Python

On PHP-FPM, PM2 or Gunicorn behind NGINX.

  4. Data

    MySQL, PostgreSQL or MongoDB

On localhost, with Redis if you need it.

Worth knowing

  • Vue Router history mode needs try_files $uri $uri/ /index.html.
  • Variables prefixed VITE_ are bundled into the public build.
  • For server rendering or static generation with SEO in mind, Nuxt is the Vue framework to use.
  • Inertia.js lets Laravel serve Vue pages without a separate API.
What you can run

What You Can Run

  • SPAs and dashboards

Customer portals and internal tools on Vue Router and Pinia.

  • Vue with Laravel

Inertia or API-based apps on one PHP server.

  • Admin panels

Vuetify, PrimeVue or Quasar front ends.

  • Front ends for a headless CMS

Vue on top of Strapi, Directus or the WordPress REST API.

  • Several apps

Customer and admin front ends on separate subdomains.

  • Staging builds

A copy per branch or per client.

Which Plan for Your Vue Project

NGINX serves Vue builds with almost no CPU. The back end and database decide the plan.

Recommended VPS plan for each Vue.js workload
Workload Start with Why
Vue front end only VPS-1 2 vCores · 4 GB RAM NGINX for several apps.
Vue plus a Laravel or Node API VPS-2 4 vCores · 8 GB RAM PHP-FPM or Node, a database and Redis.
Busy app with queues VPS-3 6 vCores · 12 GB RAM More vCores for the API and workers.
Several apps and environments VPS-4 8 vCores · 24 GB RAM Staging and production side by side.

A starting point, not a limit: every plan upgrades in place, keeping your data, IP address and configuration.

Static Hosting Service or a VPS for Vue?

A static host serves the front end only. A VPS runs it beside the back end it depends on.

Feature Static hosting service Vue VPS
Front end CDN-hosted build NGINX on your server
Back end (Laravel, Node, Python) Hosted elsewhere Same server
Cookie-based auth with the API Cross-domain setup Same domain, simple
Pricing Free tiers, then usage-based Flat monthly plan
Global CDN Built in Add one if you need it
Server administration Handled by the provider Yours, after our free setup

After handover

Deploying a Vue Build

Build locally or in CI, upload the dist folder, and NGINX serves it.

  1. Build

On your machine or in CI.

  2. Upload

rsync replaces the old build in one step.

  3. Check the history-mode fallback

    try_files $uri $uri/ /index.html in the server block.

  4. Reload NGINX

Only needed when the config changes.

# 1. Build

npm ci && npm run build

# 2. Upload

rsync -az --delete dist/ deploy@your-vps:/var/www/app/

# 3. Check the history-mode fallback

sudo nano /etc/nginx/sites-available/app.example.com

# 4. Reload NGINX

sudo nginx -t && sudo systemctl reload nginx

Free one-time setup

Installed and Secured Before You Log In

The VPS is unmanaged: after handover the server is yours to run. Before that, our engineers do the first setup once, free, so you start from a hardened server with Vue.js in place.

  1. Choose a plan and location

Pick the resources you need and the datacentre closest to your users.

  2. Tell us your Vue.js setup

Versions, database and domain: at order or right after.

  3. We install and secure it

Server hardened, Vue.js installed and tested, HTTPS on your domain.

  4. You take over with root

SSH access to a working server, ready for your code and data.

Your Vue setup

  • NGINX with HTTPS for your domain
  • History-mode routing and asset caching in the server block
  • Node.js LTS for builds
  • PHP-FPM, Node.js or Python for your API, as chosen at order
  • MySQL, PostgreSQL or MongoDB if you need one

Yours to run after handover

  • Ongoing server administration
  • Application maintenance and updates
  • Debugging your code
  • Migrating existing sites or data

Not included in the free setup, but we can quote for it. No control panel by default: CloudPanel, HestiaCP or Virtualmin on request at no cost; cPanel and Plesk need their own licence.

Who it's for

Who a Vue VPS Suits

  • Vue and Laravel developers

The classic pairing, on one server you control.

  • Small product teams

App, API and admin deployed together.

  • Agencies

Client front ends and back ends on one server.

Running it well

Security and Performance for Vue Apps

Security

  • Anything prefixed VITE_ is public: keep secrets in the API.
  • Use CSRF protection with cookie-based auth (Sanctum handles this for Laravel).
  • Set a Content-Security-Policy and HSTS in NGINX.
  • Keep dependencies updated with npm audit.

Performance

  • Cache hashed assets for a year and never cache index.html.
  • Lazy-load routes with dynamic imports.
  • gzip responses in NGINX.
  • Cache API responses in Redis where the data allows.
