Laravel VPS HostingBuilt for Queues, Cron and Redis
A Laravel app needs more than PHP: queue workers that stay up, a scheduler that runs every minute and Redis for cache and sessions. We set up NGINX, PHP-FPM, your database, Redis and Supervisor on a hardened KVM VPS; you deploy with Git or your own pipeline.
Full root & SSH NVMe storage Daily backups Anti-DDoS 99.9% uptime SLA 11 locations
-
Root and SSH access
Composer, Artisan, Supervisor and cron without restrictions.
-
Reserved vCores and RAM
Guaranteed resources for PHP-FPM and your workers.
-
NVMe storage
Quick Composer installs, migrations and file caches.
-
Daily backups
Automatic backup of the previous 24 hours.
Why Laravel Belongs on a VPS
Shared hosting can serve a Laravel route, but most real apps also need long-running workers, a minute-level scheduler and Redis. Those are what a VPS gives you.
-
Queue workers that stay running
Supervisor keeps queue:work or Horizon alive and restarts workers after a crash or a deploy, so jobs never sit unprocessed.
-
A scheduler that runs every minute
One cron entry runs schedule:run every minute, so scheduled commands, report emails and clean-up jobs run on time.
-
Redis on the same server
Use Redis for cache, sessions, queues and rate limiting over a local socket, with no separate subscription.
-
Your PHP version and extensions
Install the PHP version your Laravel release needs and extensions such as redis, intl, gd or imagick yourself.
A Typical Laravel Production Stack
NGINX in front, PHP-FPM running the app, and workers and the scheduler beside it, all on one server.
Request from a browser or app (HTTPS)
-
Web server
NGINX
Serves the public directory, handles HTTPS and passes PHP requests to PHP-FPM over a Unix socket.
-
PHP runtime
PHP-FPM + OPcache
A worker pool sized for your plan runs Laravel; OPcache keeps compiled code in memory.
-
Application
Laravel
Your code, deployed from Git, with config, routes and views cached for production.
-
Background
Queue workers + scheduler
Supervisor runs queue:work or Horizon; cron runs schedule:run every minute.
-
Data
MySQL or MariaDB + Redis
The database for your models and Redis for cache, sessions and queues, both listening only on localhost.
Production checklist
- APP_ENV=production and APP_DEBUG=false on the server.
- Run config:cache, route:cache and view:cache on every deploy.
- Restart workers after each deploy with queue:restart or horizon:terminate.
- Only storage and bootstrap/cache writable by the PHP-FPM user; the rest of the code read-only.

Which Plan for Your Laravel App
Count PHP-FPM workers, queue workers and the database: Laravel apps usually run all three on one server.
| Workload | Start with | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Small app or staging | VPS-1 2 vCores · 4 GB RAM | PHP-FPM, MySQL, Redis and a couple of queue workers. |
| Production SaaS | VPS-2 4 vCores · 8 GB RAM | Headroom for Horizon, more FPM workers and a larger buffer pool. |
| Busy app with heavy jobs | VPS-3 6 vCores · 12 GB RAM | 6 vCores for parallel workers, imports and reports. |
| Several apps or a large database | VPS-4 8 vCores · 24 GB RAM | 24 GB RAM and 200 GB NVMe. |
A starting point, not a limit: every plan upgrades in place, keeping your data, IP address and configuration.
Laravel on Shared Hosting or a VPS?
Shared hosting can serve a Laravel route; production features need a server you control.
| Feature | Shared hosting | Laravel VPS |
|---|---|---|
| Queue workers | Not reliably: no long-running processes | Supervisor or Horizon |
| Scheduler | Cron with host limits | schedule:run every minute |
| Redis | Rarely available | Installed at handover |
| PHP version and extensions | The host's selection | Your choice |
| Deploys | File upload or limited SSH | Git, Composer and Artisan over SSH |
| Server administration | Done by the host | Yours, after our free setup |

Your First Laravel Deploy
A standard production deploy over SSH, using the database, Redis and Supervisor we set up.
-
Clone and install
Production dependencies only, with an optimised autoloader.
-
Configure the environment
Add your database and Redis settings to .env, then set the app key.
-
Migrate and cache
Run migrations and cache config, routes, views and events.
-
Restart workers
Queue workers pick up the new code.
# 1. Clone and install
git clone [email protected]:you/app.git /var/www/app && cd /var/www/app
composer install --no-dev --optimize-autoloader
# 2. Configure the environment
cp .env.example .env && php artisan key:generate
# 3. Migrate and cache
php artisan migrate --force
php artisan optimize
# 4. Restart workers
php artisan queue:restart
Example commands; adjust names, paths and versions to your project. Deploying and maintaining your application is yours to do (or ask us for a quote).
Installed and Secured Before You Log In
The VPS is unmanaged: after handover the server is yours to run. Before that, our engineers do the first setup once, free, so you start from a hardened server with Laravel in place.
-
Choose a plan and location
Pick the resources you need and the datacentre closest to your users.
-
Tell us your Laravel setup
Versions, database and domain: at order or right after.
-
We install and secure it
Server hardened, Laravel installed and tested, HTTPS on your domain.
-
You take over with root
SSH access to a working server, ready for your code and data.
Your Laravel stack
- NGINX configured for Laravel's public directory
- PHP-FPM with the extensions Laravel needs, plus Composer
- MySQL or MariaDB with a database and user for your app (PostgreSQL on request)
- Redis for cache, sessions and queues
- Supervisor for queue workers, and the scheduler cron entry
Yours to run after handover
- Ongoing server administration
- Application maintenance and updates
- Debugging your code
- Migrating existing sites or data
Not included in the free setup, but we can quote for it. No control panel by default: CloudPanel, HestiaCP or Virtualmin on request at no cost; cPanel and Plesk need their own licence.

Who a Laravel VPS Suits
-
Laravel developers and freelancers
You deploy with Git or a deploy script and want a server you understand end to end.
-
Agencies hosting client apps
Several Laravel apps on one server, each with its own PHP-FPM pool, database and workers.
-
Startups past shared hosting
Apps that need queues, Horizon and Redis, which shared hosting cannot run reliably.
Security and Performance for Laravel
Security
- Point the web root at /public only, so .env and the rest of the app stay outside it.
- Keep APP_DEBUG off in production so stack traces and environment values are never shown.
- Give the app a database user limited to its own database.
- Run composer audit and stay on a Laravel release that still receives security fixes.
Performance
- Enable OPcache and cache config, routes, views and events on deploy.
- Use Redis instead of the database or file driver for cache, sessions and queues.
- Size PHP-FPM pm.max_children to the RAM left after MySQL, Redis and your workers.
- Turn on the slow query log and add indexes where it points.
